Planning Permission in Brighton

One issue many of our clients highlight as being a particular area of concern refers to building control and planning permission.  DMB Solutions deals with all aspects of the home renovation, extension, and/or conversion process and this importantly includes acquiring planning permission and structural engineering.  Alongside having extensive knowledge, our team has an abundance of experience in following all building regulations.

Within the initial Stage 1 process you will be informed as to whether planning permission is required or not and if it is needed, DMB will go forward with the application to take this pressure off your shoulders!  In situations in which planning permission is not required, we ensure we adhere to permitted development rights.  This refers to certain criteria that the property must adhere to in order to ensure construction work can be carried out without planning permission.  If you are unsure with regards how this applies to your particular project we can always be of help.  High standards and levels of finish are an integral part of every DMB project.

Another area of worry for some of our clients refers to any work that is carried out on a shared wall or foundation.  This will fall under the Party Wall Act, an act brought in to power in 1996 to ensure that all walls and foundations between neighbours remain protected.  Whilst we do not offer a party wall service in itself, we can offer informed advice and reassurance on how to successfully proceed with gaining a party wall agreement.
